Veezu has pledged to support university students for another academic year with its Safe Ride initiative.
Working in collaboration with the Students’ Unions, Safe Rides helps ensure that all students can get a lift home after a night out, even if they don’t have any money for the fare on them.
24 hours a day, seven days a week, students from the participating universities can book a journey with Veezu that will be covered by their Students’ Union. They must then repay the Union within 48 hours.*
Universities and Student Unions participating in Veezu Safe Rides include:
For example - By phoning 01179 262626 (Bristol taxis) or 01225 464646 (Bath taxis), quoting ‘Veezu Safe Rides’ followed by the name of their university, a vehicle will be sent to stranded students as a matter of priority.
Students must give the driver their name, email address and student number and show a valid student ID card, and the end address must be a student residential address, police station or hospital. Members of each Students’ Union are fully trained to offer support and advice about the service and take payment.
Jack Price, regional director of Veezu South West, said: “Moving to a new area and starting university can be daunting, so we are here to support students in Bristol and Bath as they find their feet; our scheme will help them get home safe without worry over finding the fare.” *Terms and conditions apply for each University and Student Union.
