Veezu is the new name for Britannia Taxis

Britannia Taxis, one of the North West’s leading private hire operators, is officially rebranding as Veezu.

Founded in Knowsley in 1988, Britannia Taxis has provided trusted private hire services across the Liverpool City Region and St Helens for over three decades. The company expanded into St Helens in 2013 and strengthened its footprint with the acquisition of Davy Liver in 2017 and Bluestar in Wigan in 2023. Britannia Taxis was acquired by Veezu in May 2023.

This rebrand marks a significant step in Veezu’s mission to deliver a more connected, consistent and technology-driven service for passengers and driver-partners alike across the North West.

Veezu, the UK's fastest-growing and largest private hire technology business, now operates in over 50 locations across the UK and partners with more than 16,000 self-employed driver-partners. While passengers across St Helens, Knowsley, Wigan and neighbouring areas, will continue to enjoy the familiar local service they rely on, they'll now benefit from improved technology, additional payment options, and smarter ride features available via the Veezu app.

By bringing Britannia Taxis under the Veezu name, we’re creating a simpler, more consistent experience for passengers across Liverpool and its surrounding areas. BOOKING WITH VEEZU

Passengers can call the usual Liverpool number on 0151 708 7080, St Helens number on 01744 777 777 and Wigan number on 01942 242424 and everything will remain the same operationally. The Veezu app, which was introduced in May last year, will continue to give passengers a much-improved user experience, with smarter address search capabilities, easier access and improved functions across the board. Veezu also offers multiple payment options, including cash, card, Apple Pay and Google Pay, making travel even more convenient for passengers.

SMARTER LOCAL RIDES

As part of its rebranding efforts, Veezu is excited to unveil an extensive localised marketing campaign using local radio and out-of-home media.

Driver-partners, local businesses and passengers are invited to embrace the Veezu identity and continue its mission to provide safe, efficient, and affordable transportation services to the communities of Knowsley, St Helens, Prescot, Wigan and beyond.
