Go Carz makes cash donation to help local Little Rascals children’s charity

8 December 2020

Go Carz, the biggest private hire taxi operator across Shropshire and the West Midlands, has made a significant cash donation to a local charity which supports children with disabilities and life limiting illnesses.

Go Carz, the biggest private hire taxi operator across Shropshire and the West Midlands, has made a significant cash donation to a local charity which supports children with disabilities and life limiting illnesses.

The Little Rascals Foundation provides family play sessions, after school and holiday clubs, and sensory soft play sessions for children with disabilities and their families. Founded in 2017 by former Wolves and Wales footballer David Edwards and Ben Wootton, the Shrewsbury based charity supports families living in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and the Welsh Borders.

The local charity has, like many others, suffered a drop in donations due to the pandemic and Go Carz – part of Veezu Group which provides disability friendly transport – has stepped in to help out this Christmas time. The significant donation will benefit the young people who access Little Rascals Foundation’s services, helping them to develop their independence skills, try new activities and build trusted friendships with their peers in a safe environment.

Graham Hoof, Regional Director of Go Carz, said: “Little Rascals Foundation is a charity that does fantastic work within the local community. The charity has felt the impact of the pandemic with a knock in financial donations as well as lockdown restrictions forcing their soft play site to close for much of the year. “We hope this cash donation will go some small way to alleviate the pressures on the charity and bring a bit of Christmas cheer to the children who use their services.”

David Edwards, Founder of Little Rascals Foundation, said: “We are very grateful for Go Carz’ generous donation which is a much-welcomed festive gift for the charity, the children we support and their families. This year has been challenging in many ways but we remain committed to helping children lead the fun and happy lives they deserve.”

Veezu was also one of the first transport companies to introduce additional health and hygiene measures this year to make journeys as safe as possible for all passengers and driver-partners. The measures, designed to mitigate the spread of coronavirus, include specialist cleaning regimes, in-vehicle protective screens, the wearing of face coverings and passengers sitting in the rear of the vehicle.
