Amber Cars team up with The Clothing Bank to spread Christmas cheer with £1000 donation

Leeds’ largest taxi and private hire vehicle operator, Amber Cars, has donated £1000 to support vulnerable members of the local community before Christmas.

The Clothing Bank provides quality clothing to those who need it in the Yorkshire area, with 81 different drop-off points across the region. Providing support to people across the UK, the bank hopes to partner with a nationwide distribution service to increase their current capacity.

Amber Cars, a regional hub of the UK’s leading private hire operator Veezu, is always keen to help the local community where possible and stepped in to donate money to help the cause provide clothing for those who need it. Members of the Amber Cars team were also keen to help further by donating Christmas pyjamas for children who benefit from the bank. Founded in January 2020 by Susan Bell and Sally Parkinson, The Clothing Bank was established to address a gap in the support chain for people accessing help to clothe themselves or their family. What began as a collection among friends has since grown to support the entire region, with over 45,000 supporters.

Chris Neary, Amber Cars Regional Director, said: “Amber Cars Driver partners operate in the heart of their communities and often hear first-hand the difficulties people face. After a particularly challenging year, we wanted to give something back to those in need in our local area. We hope this donation will bring some Christmas cheer to those who really need it. Volunteers are sacrificing their time over Christmas, and this is the least we can do.”
